hey lovelies,
I love snacks. In between work, after lunch or just when I feel like something to eat I want to eat something healthy and filling.
The crunchy kohlrabi sticks are low carb and take only about 20 minutes to make, so what are you waiting for? Try it out! 🙂
This is what you need:
- 1 small kohlrabi
- 100g low fat curd cheese (Magerquark)
- some herbs (e.g. Tarragon)
- Salt, pepper and a pinch of sugar
- 1/5 citron
- 2 egg yolk
- 2 tb sesame
- 2 tb breadcrumbs
- sunflower oil
For the tarragon curd:
- Put the curd cheese in a bowl and squeeze the citron in it
- Add the herbs, salt, pepper and a pinch of sugar
- Put aside
For the kohlrabi sticks:
- Peel the kohlrabi and cut it in 1,5cm thick sticks
- Cook the kohlrabi for 2-3 minutes in hot boiling water
- Let it cool on a chopping board
- Separate the egg yolk from the egg white and just put the egg yolk in a bowl (use the egg white elsewhere)
- Mix the breadcrumbs and sesame in another bowl
- Put the kohlrabi sticks in the egg yolk first and turn it until every side is covered
- Then dip it into the sesame mixture
- Heat up some sunflower oil in a pan and fry the sticks about 3 minutes on each side until they are golden brown
4. Serve with the curd
